Please note that unfortunately only registered assistance dogs will be allowed on walks. Please contact the walk leader if you intend to bring an R A Dog.

Saturday December 6th – rather than incorporate a walk and lunch we will focus on Christmas lunch only; further details to follow.

NOVEMBER 

Sunday 16 Nov Leader: Patsy McCarthy 07891 833925, 7.1 miles
Park in Castle Theatre car park, Wellingborough, NN8 1XA, meeting for a 10 am start. Any problems with the car park, alternative parking is available in Swansgate, then walk to Castle car park. Parking is free in both car parks. This is a circular walk through some of the green spaces of Wellingborough and along the Nene River tow path to Wollaston Mill.  From there up to Great Doddington, where we will stop for a break in the Memorial Gardens. Since the distance is 7 miles, this break will be longer than usual, bring a snack or lunch.  From there we go to Wilby and then back into Wellingborough along the Croyland cycle path.  It’s a varied walk, some road, but all have pavements, canal tow path, and sheep pasture fields. No stiles, but parts of the canal tow path may be muddy in winter. Please make your own arrangements for lunch if you are wishing to eat after the walk.

Saturday 22 Nov Leader: Lesley Harrison 07814 942580, 5 miles
Morning Walk: Meet for a 10 am start at Holcot Village Hall, Back Lane, Holcot, Northampton, Postcode NN6 9SL. A pleasant circular walk from Holcot to Walgrave. Walking through Hannington and skirting the deer park along good pathways with a few slopes. Please make your own arrangements for lunch and park with consideration for others in the village. (Some parking spaces available at the village hall)

Sunday 30 Nov Leader: Jackie & Mike 07802 332104, 4 miles 
Morning Walk: Meet for a 10 am start at Daventry District Golf Club, Norton Road. Daventry NN11 2LS.  We have a number of spaces reserved in the car park for us. The Borough Hill walk is shorter than normal, however contains a lot of history; it has 2 stiles.  We are expecting to be able to arrange a light lunch for walkers at the golf club after the walk, but will need advance notice of numbers.  Further details to follow nearer the date.

Saturday 6 Dec    NO WALK AS CHRISTMAS MEAL – DETAILS TO FOLLOW 

Sunday 14 Dec Leader: Gill Finch 07977 422473, 6 miles
Meet for a 10 am start in the car park of The Windhover, Brampton Lane, Chapel Brampton NN6 8AA. GR SP 737652, OS Explorer map 223, what3words: taxi.atom.slime. However, if you are not patronising The Windhover, could you please park in the Brampton Valley car park, Brampton Lane NN6 8BD.  Which is opposite The Windhover.
This circular walk is full of variety going out into open fields, through woodland and into the pretty villages of Chapel Brampton and Church Brampton.  The outward journey follows a section of the Brampton Valley Way to Harlestone Firs.  Leaving the Brampton Valley Way we follow field paths and a railway crossing to the new (unopened) link road.  The walk then takes us through Harlestone Firs with its magnificent beech and chestnut trees.  Leaving Harlestone Firs behind, this picturesque walk continues across a golf course, through the village of Church Brampton, and returns across peaceful fields to The Windhover. Refreshments available after the walk at The Windhover.  Lunch can be pre-ordered in the pub before the walk.

Saturday 20 Dec Leader:  Richard Warr 07732 638245, 6.25 miles
Morning Walk: Meet for a 10 am start at Drovers Return Café, Hunsbury Hill, Northampton, Postcode NN4 9RR, GR SP 735584, OS Explorer map 207. This is a pleasant walk taking in canal towpaths and fields around south Northampton. Please make your own arrangements for lunch

Sunday 28 Dec Leader: Gill Finch 07977 422473, 5.5 miles
Morning Walk: Meet for a 10 am start opposite The Red Lion, Main Street, East Haddon, Postcode NN6 8BU, GR SP 671683, OS Explorer map 223. A lovely circular walk winding it’s way through the countryside to Holdenby, following footpaths crossing pastures and paddocks offering extensive views over Northamptonshire. The walk contains 7 stiles. Refreshments available after the walk at The Red Lion, please make your own arrangements for lunch and park with consideration for others in the village.
