Shorter Morning Walk: Meet at 11.15 am at T​he Boat Inn, Bridge Road, Stoke Bruerne, Postcode NN12 7SB, OS Landranger Map 152, GR 742501. Take a gentle stroll along the Grand Union Canal, through lush fields and wide bridleways that connect the pretty villages of Shutlanger, Stoke Bruerne and Blisworth – but beneath your feet, ghosts are said to haunt the dark tunnel under the hill!

This year we again have a choice of two walks, aimed to finish at around the same time to enable us to enjoy our Christmas feast. The meal is scheduled for around 2.00 pm. Will we still be socially distancing? Who knows but let's hope not!

Starting from the Telegraph with a short walk through Moulton then branching off over open fields (not ploughed) to Holcot, continuing in the direction of Pitsford with lovely views over the reservoir, returning to Moulton. The walk is mainly flat with a few stiles. Some paths could be muddy, depending on the weather. Lunch available at the Navigation. Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at the car park at Whilton Locks, Whilton, Daventry, Postcode NN11 2NH, GR 645 615, OS Landranger Map 152. A circular walk starting and finishing at Whilton Locks. We will walk along the Grand Union Canal until the A5 and then pick up the footpath leading to Long Buckby, over the M1 Motorway. From Long Buckby we follow a number of footpaths heading across fields towards Long Buckby Wharf. A short section of road walking before we follow the footpath back to Whilton Locks. A leisurely walk along the River Nene towards Northampton, returning via Delapre Abbey lake and onwards around the East Northampton Lakeland area.
