Saturday 21 December
Leader: Gill Finch 07977 422473 5.5 miles morning walk: Meet at 1000 at The Barley Mow, 7 The Stocks, Cosgrove, Milton Keynes, postcode MK19 7JD. This circular walk is perfect for the winter as the route is mostly on hard man-made paths. The walk starts along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal, enters the Ouse Valley Park beside the River Ouse leading to Stony Stratford. We return over fields and the towpath of the defunct Buckingham Canal. Walk contains no stiles and1 lock gate to negotiate to cross over the canal. Please make your own arrangement for lunch.

Leader: Sue Latter 07814 076423 circa 5 miles morning walk: Meet at 10 am at The Sun Inn, 6 Mill Road, Kislingbury Northampton, postcode NN7 4BB, what3words hints.engine.rust. A walk from Kislingbury through and around Upton Country Park, mostly on hard surfaced paths/bridleways and on parts of the Nene Way. Walk is flat and contains no stiles. Distance no more than 5 miles but could be less depending on conditions at the time. A table is booked for lunch at 12.30 at The Sun Inn. Names to Sue (07814 076423/suelatter@aol.com) by 16 December. A lovely circular walk beside the River Nene. The route leaves the riverside and winds its way through Earls Barton, before returning to the water’s edge. No stiles. Only park in the Marina Car Park if you are staying for refreshments in the cafè after the walk, otherwise please park in the Bends car park, Grendon Road NN7 1NP.
Sunday 12 January
Leader: Sue Latter 07814 076423 5 miles morning walk: 10 am start at Drovers Return Café, in car park off Hunsbury Hill Road, Northampton, postcode NN4 9UW. A circular walk utilising footpaths, bridleways and canal towpaths to Far Cotton then returning via Delapre. Refreshments are available at the café.

Leader: John Churchman 07821 143067 5.4 miles morning walk: 10 am start at The Coach and Horses Pub, Harborough Road, Brixworth, Northampton, postcode NN6 9BX, GR SP 751709, OS Explorer map 223. This will be a lovely winter walk with splendid views over Pitsford Reservoir, crossing fields including a few stiles down to the water, stopping off at Brixworth Country Park Café, following footpaths back to the pub. Please notify John if you wish to stay for lunch in the pub.

Today we have a slightly shorter walk which is full of interest including lovely views across Northamptonshire. FEBRUARY
Saturday 1 February
Leader: Patsy McCarthy 07891 833925 5 miles morning walk: 10 am start at Parsons Close, Grendon, postcode NN7 1JS. The walk takes us from Grendon passing close to Castle Ashby village with views of Castle Ashby House. Next through Easton Maudit village, passing the ‘tree house’ and the remains of the village’s Great Tree, an oak which lived to be many hundred years old and under which John Bunyan and Charles Wesley are both reputed to have preached. We return back across farmland to Grendon. The walk contains 2 or 3 stiles. Please make your own arrangements for lunch.

Leader: Graeme White 01604 401950 5 miles morning walk: 10 am start at The Coffee Pot Tavern, 30 High Street, Yardley Gobion, Towcester, postcode NN12 7TN, what3words: picturing.flocking.glass. We start by walking past nice village buildings then on to pastureland to the church of Saint Nicholas in Potterspury. (this has some really nice stain glass windows) Then on to Saint Bartholomew's church in Furtho where we will continue our walk back to the Coffee Pot. Please only park in the pub car park if stopping for lunch and make your own arrangements.

Leader: Patsy McCarthy 07891 833925 5.75 miles morning walk: 10 am start at Floodplains Forest Car park, Manor Court, postcode MK12 5NN (off Old Wolverton Road). Starting from the car park, we walk through the Floodplain Forest, information at https://www.theparkstrust.com/find-a-park/floodplain-forest-nature-reserve/., followed by a circular agricultural walk up to Cosgrave. Return is down the Grand Union Canal, passing through the old canal port area of Cosgrave and across the 200 year old Iron trunk bridge - an engineering wonder in its day and still in use. We return to the car park skirting the Floodplain Forest again. There are no toilets at the carpark, nearest refreshment and toilets is The Galleon Pub, Old Wolverton Road, 5 mins away. Leader: Jan Holt 07762 701985 5.3 miles morning walk: 10 am start at the car park, Barlow Lane, by the side of The Cardigan Arms, Moulton, Northampton, postcode NN3 7TB. From the car park we walk through Moulton village to Crowfields Common, then over fields to Thorpeville; thereafter we cross the A43 and walk to Overstone. Next we take the footpath towards Holcot crossing the A43 again and up to Rectory Farm. Finally walking back along fields to Moulton and to the car park. The walk contains 5 Stiles. Saturday 1 March Leader: John Churchman 07821 143067 6.2 miles morning walk: 10 am start at Saint Mary the Virgin Church, 12 High Street, Little Addington, Kettering, postcode NN14 4BD. GR SP 959736, OS Explorer map 224. We will take a pleasant and easy walk down to Stanwick Lakes taking a halfway break at the activity centre. On our return route we will view the various wild gardens and Anglo Saxon roundhouses. Note this walk contains no stiles. Please make your own arrangements for lunch.

Leader: Andy Schofield 6 miles morning walk: 10 am start at The Telegraph Inn, 30 West Street, Moulton, Northampton, postcode NN3 7SB. OS Explorer map 223. The walk takes us from Moulton via Holcot village to Pitsford Water then returns to Moulton along a new permissive foot path. The walk contains a few stiles and some road walking. Please make your own arrangements for lunch.

The circular route takes us across fields to Farndish and back again. This is an easy walk containing good views, on a clear day! Parking is available at the pub for those staying for lunch. The route contains 3 stiles and a small quantity of steps, it may be muddy in places. The pub is very popular for a good Sunday lunch consequently if you would like to stay for food please let Julie know by February 19th. The pub has a large car park.

Leader: Graham Pickard 07708 223343 6 miles morning walk: 10 am start at The Green, Orlingbury, Postcode NN14 1JA (nearest property), GR SP 860723, OS Explorer map 224, what3words: relegate.little.protects. Starting from The Green at Orlingbury, we will make our way towards Little Harrowden and then follow footpaths to Great Harrowden. From here we make our way via footpaths and some road walking to Hardwick (refreshment stop). The final leg will involve crossing a number of fields towards Orlingbury. Please be advised there may be livestock in the fields and there are 3 or 4 stiles on this walk. Pleasew make your own arrangements for lunch.

This is a nice leisurely walk via the villages of Stoke Bruerne and Ashton and back. The walk consists of mainly field paths and pavements including a few styles; part of the walk is alongside the Grand Union Canal. Only park in the Cock Inn car park if staying for lunch. Please make your own arrangements for lunch.
Saturday 12 April
Leader: Lesley Harrison 07814 942580 5 miles morning walk: 10 am start at The White Swan, Main Street, Holcot, postcode NN6 9SP. Walking across open fields this circular route leads towards the edge of Hannington; and returns re-tracing steps back to Holcot. The walk passes Skylark Meadow and the Deer Park. An easy, pleasant walk across fields and mown grass pathways including some gentle slopes, one stile and a wooden bridge. There are two short sections to walk along quiet roads. Please, park at the pub only if you will be stopping to drink; The pub does not offer food. Alternatively, park curbside, with consideration, on the village road. There are a few parking places in front of Holcot Village Hall (NN6 9SL) which is a short distance (0.2 mile) from the pub. (From the village hall: walk down hill, turn right at the T-junction and walk downhill a little further. The pub is on the right.)

A six mile walk starting from Everdon and walking towards Newnham, Weedon Bec, Little Everdon and returning to Everdon. The Plough is an expensive gastro pub so lunch will be at The Crossroads, Weedon. If you would like lunch please book with Jim by 12th April.
