Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 hrs start at All Saints Church, School Lane, Harpole, Postcode  NN7 4DJ, OS Explorer map 223, what3words: gallons.rams.feels. We walk towards Harlestone then turn south west towards Nobottle, skirting Yewtree Spinney and Nobottle Wood; then head back via Harpole Covert. The walk has no stiles and contains a small amount of road walking on minor roads. Please park with consideration within the village and make your own arrangements for lunch.

SEPTEMBER

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at The Wharfe Inn, Welford, Postcode NN6 6JQ, what3words: ambitions.webcams.vintages. The Canal Walk – starting from the Wharf Inn, along the Welford Arm and on to the Grand Union Canal, returning to The Wharf via fields and Welford village. Flat walk along the canal towpaths but undulating from the canal to the village including a couple of stiles. The Wharf car park contains plenty of parking.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start on the corner of Harbidges Lane & West Street, near to The Old Kings Head, 2 Harbidges Lane, Long Buckby, Northampton, Postcode NN6 7QL. The walk is mainly across fields using bridleways and tracks, it contains 3 stiles. Please park with consideration for others in West Street and make your own arrangements for lunch.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at Hunsbury Hill Country Park / Drovers Car Park,  Hunsbury Hill Road, West Hunsbury, Northampton, Postcode NN4 9UW. An easy walk, with no styles, starting from the Drovers café. We will be walking through the East and West Hunsbury parks and Delapre Abbey. The walk is a figure of 8, taking in the woods surrounding Delapre golf course and the 1460 war of the Roses area. We will stop at Delapre Abbey café if open for a convenience stop. We have a lunch reservation for 1 pm at the Queen Eleanor, Newport Pagnell Road, Wootton.  No pre-ordering is required. Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at Brodie Lodge Playing Field Car Park, Spring Lane, Flore, Postcode NN7 4LS (junction of Spring Lane and Nether Lane), GR SP 644599, OS Explorer map 223, What3words: crash.facelift.workshops. A nice walk with some good views, visiting both Flore and Nether Heyford churches and using the Grand Union Canal, with two stiles plus two ‘V’ styles on bridges. Please make your own arrangement for lunch.

OCTOBER

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at All Saints Church, Church Street, Mears Ashby, Northampton, postcode NN6 0EF. From the starting point of the church we head out of the village across fields towards Sywell Country Park. There we follow the path around the reservoir stopping at the café for refreshments (weather permitting). Thereafter we head back for our return using the same route. The walk contains 4 stiles and has one road crossing. Please park considerately in the village. We have a table booked for 1 pm at the Griffin’s Head, Mears Ashby. This is a circular walk into the Nene valley via Cogenhoe and Earls Barton. Note, the bus service X46/X47 runs from Northampton and Wellingborough via Ecton. Refreshments available after the walk at The Three Horseshoes PH and TWE; please make your own arrangements. Please park with consideration for others in the village.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at The Windhover, Brampton Lane, Chapel Brampton, Northampton, Postcode NN6 8AA. This is a varied walk following the new road up to Dallington Heath and into a lovely part of Harlestone Firs. From here we continue across the golf course and into the Bramptons, thereafter heading back across fields and meadows negotiating four styles to bring us back to the Windhover. Parking at the pub for those taking refreshments afterwards, alternatively the Brampton Valley Way Car Park is across the road opposite. A table has been booked for lunch at 1-15 pm.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at St John the Baptist Church, The Green, Abthorpe, Towcester, Postcode NN12 8QN, what3words: proofs.winds.folds. This is a pleasant walk heading to Foscote, then to Bradden and onwards to Slapton Hill Farm where we will stop to look round St Botolph’s Church and then continue back to Abthorpe.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at “the crossroads” near to St Mary the Virgin Church, Meadow Lane, Little Houghton, Northampton, Postcode NN7 1AB. The walk is mainly on grass verges and tracks. We have three busy roads to cross and a small amount of road walking. Only one stile and none if gate is unlocked. We will make our way south to the Brafield International raceway, from there to Brafield, for a break at the duckpond. Then back to Little Houghton. Please park considerately in the village. Refreshments can be found at the Four Pears pub in Little Houghton or the White Hart at Great Houghton; please make your own arrangements.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at The Rose & Crown, Yardley Hastings, Postcode NN7 1EX. The walk will take us through the lovely village of Yardley Hastings onwards to Castle Ashby estate taking in some beautiful countryside. Upon arrival in Castle Ashby village, we will pause for a break (toilets, drinks & ice cream available!). Thereafter we walk for approx. 1 mile on a quiet road to re-join field footpaths back to Yardley Hastings. The walk consists of mainly flat walking although the road section contains a little incline. We have 6 stiles to negotiate. The village provides plenty of road parking, however please park with consideration and make your own arrangements for lunch.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at The Green, Woodford, nr Kettering, Postcode NN14 4HF, GR SP 967769, OS Explorer map 224, what3words: jars.witty.land. From the Green we will make our way to the river via roads and footpaths. We will follow the footpath running beside the river until we reach Denford Lock. From there we will cross over some fields to the old railway line. We then follow the railway line back towards Woodford Lock, turning off to pass Ranger world and heading back towards Woodford following farm tracks and a path taking us through a wood and finishing in Woodford. The walk contains 2 styles and 1 x bridge style. Please make your own arrangements for lunch and please park with consideration in the village.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at Moulton Village Hall (opposite Telegraph Pub), Pound Lane, Moulton, Northampton, Postcode NN3 7SD, OS Landranger map 152, what3words: vanish.behind.fees.  A varied walk through Moulton village to cross A43 ( via Pelican crossing ); then through the new estate of Overstone Gate, to use a footpath through field to Overstone Village.  The walk continues using footpaths crossing several fields to a stony track where we cross the A43 (with extreme care). Thereafter crossing several fields and stiles to reach Moulton village Hall. The walk contains 7 stiles, 2 of which are broken.

Saturday 5 Dec            NO WALK – CHRISTMAS MEAL

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at The Barley Mow, The Stocks, Cosgrove, Postcode MK19 7JD, GR SP 792542569, OS Landranger map 152, what3words: airfields.refuse.fails. This is perfect for a winter walk as it is mostly on hard surfaced paths.  The route runs along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal, descending to a riverside path.  The path winds it’s way along the River Ouse in Ouse Valley Park to Old Stratford.  The homeward journey skirts a housing estate and crossing fields we arrive beside the old towpath of the former Stratford and Buckingham Arm. The walk contains no stiles, just one lock gate to negotiate to cross over the canal. Please make your own arrangements for lunch. The Barley Mow is pleased to offer parking to its patrons, but you can also park considerately in the village.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at Chapel Brampton playing field, adjacent to The Bramptons Primary School, Harlestone Road, Chapel Brampton, Northampton.  Note there is a height restrictor at entrance to car park. Postcode NN6 8AW,
OS Explorer map 223. Festive pre Christmas Wander  [ Please feel free to wear a Xmas hat.] This will be an easy circular walk incorporating some scenic ridge views initially then via a track through the golf course. Eventually crossing the railway and returning along the Brampton Valley Way to a footpath back to Chapel Brampton.  The walk contains 3 stiles.  Please make your own arrangements for lunch and please park with consideration in the village.

Morning Walk: Meet for a 1000 start at Cottesbrooke Village. Start point tba. The walk will take us from Cottesbrooke up to Bluebell Lodge then up Haselbech Hill (that is the ascent). Then past Shutterdown Spinney, back thru Cottesbrooke Park and then into the village. Most of the walk is hardcore underfoot, although it may be a little muddy or slippy on the ascent due to the time of year. Walk contains one steep ascent. Please make your own arrangements for lunch and please park with consideration in the village on the roads.
